Passagiers die nu nog op een terugbetaling wachten van hun betaalde vliegtickets uit 2020 moeten haast maken met het terugvragen. \u201cEen vervaldatum van een vordering, zoals bij vliegtickets het geval is, kun je niet stuiten, zoals dat in juridische termen wordt genoemd. Met andere woorden, vervallen is ook \u00e9cht vervallen\u201d, aldus Peter Vos. \u201cDe enige mogelijkheid om gebruik te kunnen maken van jouw vorderingsrecht is een gang naar de rechtbank, waarbij de dagvaarding uiterlijk op de laatste vervaldag moet worden uitgebracht aan de luchtvaartmaatschappij. Met de nodige voorbereiding die hieraan vooraf gaat moet je nu al actie ondernemen, omdat de eerste die vluchten in februari en maart in 2020 werden geannuleerd. Ik adviseer reizigers hiervoor hulp in te roepen van een jurist of advocaat, maar je zou dit eventueel ook zelf kunnen doen.
